In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, two men were arrested with 14.52 grams of brown sugar and Rs 55,500 in cash from near a football ground in Giddhaur late on Sunday. The accused were identified as Rahul Kumar Soni, 28, and Anand Kumar Thakur, 22, both residents of Ramgarh. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid and apprehended the duo. An FIR was registered at Gidhaur police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Both accused were produced before a court and subsequently sent to judicial custody. The police are investigating the source of the contraband and possible links to larger drug networks. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse in the region.
