In a shocking incident under the Ramgarh police station limits of Daltonganj district, two men have been arrested for allegedly shooting at a 42-year-old woman and committing a robbery on April 13. The police reported that a total of three assailants were involved in the crime, which also involved the theft of Rs 3 lakh and a laptop from the victims, Shama Parveen and her husband Israfel Ansari.

DSP Sadar Rajeev Ranjan confirmed that the two arrested accused have been identified as Muslim Ansari, aged 23, and his accomplice Akash, aged 19. "The main shooter is at large, but will be arrested soon," Ranjan stated, emphasizing the police's commitment to apprehending the fugitive. He did not disclose the identity of the third accused, citing ongoing investigative procedures.

The incident occurred when Shama and Israfel, who operate a customer service point for a PSU bank in Hutar, were en route to their workplace on a motorcycle. The assailants intercepted them on another two-wheeler. During the confrontation, Israfel was struck with the butt of a gun, while Shama sustained two bullet injuries. The perpetrators fled the scene with the stolen money, laptop, and important documents.

According to DSP Ranjan, Muslim Ansari, a local resident of Hutar, was familiar with the couple and their daily routines. "Ansari had conducted a thorough recce well in advance before executing the crime," Ranjan explained, highlighting the premeditated nature of the attack. On the night of April 12, Ansari reportedly contacted Akash, who hails from Daltonganj town, to assist in carrying out the robbery.

In the aftermath of the arrests, police have recovered significant evidence, including a country-made gun, a bullet, two mobile phones, and approximately Rs 10,000 in cash. These items are expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation and potential prosecution of the accused.
