Two Arrested in Bhopal for Marriage Pretext Sexual Exploitation

Bhopal: Two men were arrested in separate cases registered in the city after women accused them of sexually exploiting them for years on the pretext of marriage.

First Case: Seven Years of Exploitation

In the first case, police arrested a 33-year-old man after a 25-year-old woman accused him of raping her multiple times over the past seven years. The complainant told police that she came into contact with the man in December 2019. Their friendship developed into a relationship, during which the accused allegedly promised to marry her and established physical relations multiple times. Police said the woman approached the authorities after the accused recently refused to marry her.

Second Case: Six Years of Abuse

In another case, police arrested a CCTV installation technician after a 27-year-old nurse accused him of sexually exploiting her for six years on the promise of marriage. According to police, the woman became acquainted with the man through Instagram around six years ago. She told police that he last had physical relations with her at her house in March this year before refusing to marry her recently.

Legal Action Taken

Police registered cases in both matters and sent the accused to judicial custody. The investigations are ongoing, and authorities are urging other potential victims to come forward.
