Late-Night Operation Thwarts Cattle Smuggling Attempt

In a coordinated late-night action, police authorities in collaboration with Gau Rakshak Sena successfully intercepted a cattle smuggling operation near the under-construction Ganga Expressway in Unnao district. The joint team apprehended two individuals, including a woman, while rescuing approximately 30-35 cattle from their possession.

Tip-Off Leads to Swift Action

The operation was launched following specific intelligence provided by residents of Rahimabad village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Aseevan police station. Acting promptly on the credible information, the joint team moved into position and managed to capture the two accused at the scene.

Due to the prevailing darkness and challenging conditions, six other individuals involved in the smuggling operation managed to evade capture and escape from the location. Authorities confirmed that the smugglers had abandoned a motorcycle at the scene, which has been seized as evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Transportation Plan Foiled

According to statements from a senior police officer involved in the operation, the arrested individuals and their accomplices were in the process of arranging transportation for the cattle when the raid occurred. "The cattle smugglers were waiting for a heavy vehicle to transport the cattle to another location," the officer revealed, highlighting how the timely intervention prevented the animals from being moved elsewhere.

The successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of community-police cooperation in combating illegal activities. The rescue of 30-35 cattle represents a significant blow to the smuggling network operating in the region. Police authorities have intensified their search for the six individuals who managed to escape during the operation.
