Three young men, all employees of a solar panel service company, sustained serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding was struck by a container truck on the Pune-Mumbai highway in the early hours of Monday. The incident occurred at a grade separator in the Chinchwad area, sending shockwaves through the local community.

According to information provided by the Pimpri police, the victims have been identified as Mayur Wakhare (25), Akash Koli (22), and Vikas Lambu (19). All three are residents of Chinchwad. The officer stated that the trio was riding triple-seat on a single motorcycle, heading towards Pune Railway Station. Their purpose was to see off Lambu's father, who was scheduled to board a train to his hometown.
The tragic turn of events happened near a departmental store in Chinchwad. A container truck, attempting to overtake another vehicle, collided with their motorcycle. The impact of the crash was severe, leaving the young men battered on the road.
Severe Injuries and Hospitalization
Of the three, Akash Koli and Vikas Lambu suffered the most critical injuries. Given the gravity of their conditions, Koli and Lambu were subsequently transferred to separate private hospitals for specialized treatment.
A police officer confirmed that both critically injured youths were admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICU) of their respective hospitals.
