Vadodara Police File FIR Against Trio for Assaulting Officer During CM's Security Arrangements
In a significant incident in Vadodara, the Sama police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a couple and another individual for allegedly creating a disturbance during security preparations for Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's visit. The trio is accused of assaulting an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) on duty, leading to serious legal repercussions.
Incident Details at Dumad Crossroads
The altercation occurred near Dumad Crossroads on Monday night, coinciding with the scheduled visit of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to the city. As part of standard security protocols, police had temporarily halted traffic to facilitate the safe passage of the CM's convoy. During this time, the accused, identified as Kaushik Patel and his wife Falguni, were traveling through the area on a motorcycle.
ASI Ajitsinh Laxmansinh, who was deployed on duty at the location, instructed Kaushik Patel to stop. However, Kaushik allegedly refused to comply, sparking a heated argument. The situation escalated when occupants of a car following the motorcycle also exited their vehicle and joined in the confrontation with Laxmansinh.
Alleged Assault and Threats
According to police reports, Kaushik Patel physically assaulted ASI Laxmansinh during the altercation. Premal Patel, named as the third accused, is said to have acted as an accomplice in the incident. In a further twist, Falguni reportedly recorded the entire episode on her mobile phone and allegedly threatened Laxmansinh, stating she would have him suspended from his duties.
Other police personnel quickly arrived at the scene to control the situation and provide assistance. The trio has been formally booked under relevant sections of the law for assault and for threatening a government servant with injury, highlighting the severity of their actions.
