A devastating road accident in the early hours of Friday claimed the life of a young trans artist and left six others injured in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The incident involved a tempo transporting a group of performers and a car, resulting in a severe collision that overturned the vehicle.

According to police officials, the tragic event occurred around 1:30 am in Haldhi village. A tempo, which was carrying a troupe of artistes returning from a performance, collided with a car. The impact of the crash was so intense that it caused the tempo to overturn on the roadside.
Victims and Immediate Aftermath
The collision resulted in the death of 25-year-old Zoya, a resident of Delhi. Six other individuals, including the tempo driver, sustained injuries in the accident. All the injured were initially taken to the district hospital in Ballia for urgent medical attention.
Given the seriousness of their conditions, doctors later referred five of the injured trans persons to the advanced trauma centre at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi for specialised care. Reports indicate that the injured individuals are originally from West Bengal and Tripura but were currently residing in Ballia.
