Tirupati Mother Allegedly Murders Toddler Under Pressure from New Husband

In a deeply disturbing incident from Tirupati East, police have uncovered the tragic death of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, allegedly at the hands of her own mother. The case, which began as a missing child report, has escalated into a full-scale murder investigation, revealing a harrowing tale of familial pressure and alleged premeditated crime.

From Missing Complaint to Murder Probe

The incident came to light after the toddler was reported missing on February 19, prompting her grandmother to file an official complaint with local authorities. What initially seemed like a routine missing persons case quickly took a dark turn as investigators delved deeper into the circumstances surrounding the child's disappearance.

Background of the Accused Mother

According to police officials, the mother, identified as Y. Ashalatha, had divorced her first husband approximately a year and a half prior to the incident. Hailing from the Auto Nagar locality as the daughter of Nagarathnamma and Ranga, Ashalatha's life took a new direction when she connected with 21-year-old I Reddy Kumar through a social networking platform.

The couple, who met online, eventually married last year at a local temple in what appeared to be a fresh start for Ashalatha. However, this new beginning soon turned tragic when Kumar's parents discovered that Ashalatha had been previously married and had a young daughter from that union.

Pressure to Eliminate the Child

Police investigations revealed that Kumar's family refused to accept Ashalatha into their household due to her previous marriage and child. This rejection created immense pressure on the newlywed couple, with Kumar allegedly insisting that they could only live happily together if Ashalatha did not have the child.

This pressure reportedly culminated in the alleged murder of the innocent toddler on February 19, with Ashalatha, Kumar, and his friend Ramu working together to conceal the horrific crime.

Burial and Discovery of the Body

Investigators stated that after allegedly killing her daughter, Ashalatha, with assistance from Kumar and Ramu, buried the child's body near Papanaidupeta. The trio attempted to cover their tracks, but suspicions mounted following the grandmother's persistent missing person complaint.

As police intensified their investigation, Ashalatha and Kumar eventually confessed to their involvement in the crime during questioning. The couple then led authorities to the burial site, where the body was exhumed on Wednesday. Post-mortem formalities were completed at the location as part of the evidentiary process.

Ongoing Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Police have launched a comprehensive search for Ramu, who allegedly assisted the couple in disposing of the toddler's body. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is actively underway, with legal proceedings to follow based on the evidence collected.

The case has sent shockwaves through the Tirupati community, highlighting the extreme pressures that can arise in blended family situations and the tragic consequences that can result from such conflicts. Police officials emphasized their commitment to pursuing justice for the young victim as the investigation continues to unfold.
