The accident took place near the Kombur police checkpost along the Salem-Harur road. According to police reports, the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide directly with the two-wheeler. The impact was so severe that all three men were thrown onto the road.
An officer from the Pappireddipatti police station confirmed the grim outcome, stating, "All three suffered head injuries and died on the spot." The driver of the car, who remains unidentified, fled the scene immediately after the crash, abandoning the vehicle at the location.
Victims Identified and Background of the Incident
The deceased have been identified as Palani, aged 60, from Vachathi near Pappireddipatti; Paramasivam, also 60, from Elanthakottapatti; and Kumar, aged 36, from Vazhapadi. The trio were returning from a family event when the tragedy struck.
They had attended an ear piercing ceremony for the children of their relative, Anand of Adimalaiputhur near Pappireddipatti. The ceremony was held at a temple in Manjavadi Kanavai earlier that day. The journey back home turned fatal due to the reckless driving incident.
