Police reports indicate that they had attended a wedding in Haldwani on Saturday evening and had safely returned to Rudrapur later that night. However, around midnight, they realized that one of their mobile phones had been forgotten at the wedding venue, prompting them to set out again for Haldwani on a scooter.

"Around midnight, when they reached the Tanda forest area, nearly 2 kilometers from Sanjay Van towards Haldwani, their scooter collided head-on with an oncoming SUV. The impact was severe, leaving them critically injured," he stated.
Passersby at the scene quickly alerted the police, leading to the dispatch of a response team. The injured men were rushed to the district hospital, but despite extensive efforts by medical staff to revive them, doctors declared them brought dead upon arrival.
