Three Killed in Horrific Head-On Truck Collision on NH-30 in Chhattisgarh's Kanker District
A devastating road accident claimed three lives in the early hours of Thursday in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district. The tragedy unfolded when two trucks collided head-on on National Highway-30 near Ratesara village, resulting in a catastrophic scene that left both vehicles severely mangled.

The collision occurred around 3 am, with the impact being so intense that rescue teams faced significant challenges. Police officials reported that one of the truck drivers had to be extricated by cutting open the cabin, highlighting the severity of the crash. The deceased include both truck drivers and another individual who was traveling in one of the vehicles, with two of the victims reportedly in the same truck.
Victims Identified and Traffic Disruption
The victims have been identified as Hori Lal Sahu, aged 35, and Ajay Sahu, aged 36, both residents of Marta in Balodabazar district. The identity of the third victim is still being ascertained by the police as part of their ongoing investigation.
The accident brought traffic on the busy National Highway-30 to a complete standstill, triggering long queues on both sides. Vehicular movement remained disrupted for approximately four hours as teams worked diligently to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.

Excavator machines and other heavy equipment were pressed into service to remove the damaged trucks from the carriageway and reopen the route for traffic.
