Weapon Smuggled Into Facility

Video clips that surfaced online show one of the inmates pointing a gun at security personnel and firing inside the facility. Police confirmed that the locally made pistol had been smuggled into the observation home, and authorities are actively investigating both the source of the weapon and the circumstances that enabled the security breach.

"We are investigating how the weapon entered the facility and what security lapses may have occurred," a senior police official stated, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Injured Officers Hospitalized

Two officers were injured during the attack and subsequent escape. Special Police Officer Vinay Kumar and Head Constable Praveen Kumar were rushed to the Sub-District Hospital for immediate medical attention.

Dr. Sanowar Singh, Medical Officer at the Sub-District Hospital, confirmed that both men received first aid before being referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital for further treatment. Their current condition remains under medical supervision.

Massive Police Manhunt Underway

Following their escape, the fugitives allegedly robbed a motorcycle at gunpoint and fled the immediate area. Security forces immediately tightened surveillance, establishing special checkpoints on routes toward Samba district amid concerns that the escapees might attempt to reach the national highway or move toward the international border.

Jammu Police have launched a large-scale search operation, forming specialized teams and conducting raids at multiple suspected locations. Senior officers including Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and Inspector General Bhim Sen Tuti personally visited the scene to oversee the investigation into the jailbreak and potential security lapses at the facility.

Heightened Security Measures

The escape has prompted a comprehensive review of security protocols at observation homes and detention facilities across the region. Police have intensified patrols and surveillance operations throughout Jammu district, with particular focus on border areas and transportation routes.

"We are utilizing all available resources to apprehend the escapees and ensure public safety," a police spokesperson confirmed, adding that the investigation remains ongoing with multiple angles being pursued simultaneously.
