In the first tragic event, two young men died in a severe head-on collision near Tipupada under the Sasan police station limits. The accident occurred around 9 am when three youths were riding a motorcycle at high speed from the Sonutikra area towards Bareipali.

According to SDPO Tofan Bag of Sambalpur Sadar, their bike collided head-on with an SUV near Tipupada. The impact proved fatal for two of the riders, who died instantly at the scene. The third youth sustained critical injuries in the crash.

Emergency services rushed the injured individual to Sambalpur district headquarters hospital. As his condition worsened, doctors transferred him to VIMSAR in Burla for advanced medical care. Police identified the deceased as Pradeep Mirdha, aged 21, and Sudarshan Mirdha, aged 22.

Sasan police officers arrived promptly at the accident site. They launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating collision.

Speeding Truck Claims Child's Life at Remed Chhak

In a separate incident around noon, a speeding truck struck a woman and her seven-year-old son near the traffic signal at Remed Chhak under Bareipali police station limits. The pair were crossing the road when the truck hit them.

Witnesses reported that the truck ran over the young boy, killing him immediately at the scene. Local residents quickly called for an ambulance and transported both the injured mother and her son to VIMSAR in Burla. Medical professionals at the hospital declared the child dead upon arrival.

This tragic accident sparked immediate tension in the area. Angry locals reportedly assaulted the truck driver in their grief and frustration. Bareipali police responded swiftly to the scene.

Officers managed to bring the volatile situation under control. They rescued the driver from the agitated mob and detained him at the police station for questioning. Authorities also seized the truck involved in the fatal incident.

In response to these heartbreaking events, police took several important steps. They sent the bodies of all three victims for post-mortem examinations at medical facilities. After completing necessary procedures, authorities handed the remains over to their grieving families.
