Two Teenagers Arrested for Daylight Stabbing Murder in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Police made two arrests on Saturday in connection with a shocking daylight murder. The police took Krish and Aryan, both teenagers, into custody. They are accused of stabbing 25-year-old Sumit, also known as Golu, to death.

The violent incident happened on Friday. It occurred on the road dividing Sectors 25 and 38 in Chandigarh. Police officials stated the murder took place in full public view. They attributed the killing to a long-standing personal feud between the accused and the victim's family.

Background of the Family Feud

The roots of this conflict go back nearly a year. According to a complaint filed by the victim's brother, Mandeep, the trouble started in Dadu Majra Colony. The accused allegedly misbehaved with the family's mother. They tore her clothes and assaulted her.

An FIR was registered following that earlier incident. After the police case, Krish and another individual named Honey began threatening the family. They reportedly attacked family members on multiple occasions. This created a cycle of hostility that ultimately led to tragedy.

The Fatal Day Unfolds

On the day of the murder, Sumit and his brother Mandeep visited the Sector 43 district courts. They attended a hearing related to a separate case. After the court proceedings, Sumit left for Dadu Majra on his grey scooter. Mandeep followed him at a short distance in an auto-rickshaw.

Sumit stopped at a petrol pump in Sector 37 to refuel his vehicle. At that moment, the accused arrived on a Bullet motorcycle. Krish was driving the bike with Honey riding on the back.

The assailants allegedly tried to attack Sumit with knives right at the petrol pump. Sumit managed to escape this initial assault. The accused gave chase on their motorcycle.

Near the gate of the Prayaas Building in Sector 38, they caught up with him. The motorcycle rammed into Sumit's scooter, causing him to fall onto the road. As Sumit tried to get away, Honey grabbed him from behind. Krish then stabbed him in the chest with a knife.

Sumit collapsed on the road, bleeding heavily from his wound. Mandeep rushed to the scene to help his brother. The accused threatened Mandeep with the knife. They claimed they had killed Sumit and would kill him next. Then they fled the area on their motorcycle.

Aftermath and Police Response

Passersby came to Sumit's aid immediately. They placed him in an auto-rickshaw and rushed him to PGIMER hospital. Doctors at the medical institute examined him and declared him dead on arrival.

A police team from Sector 40 police station reached the crime scene promptly. Officers found Sumit's scooter lying on the road. Bloodstains marked the area around the vehicle.

Based on Mandeep's detailed statement, police registered a murder case. They launched an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators. The investigation led to the arrest of both accused teenagers. Krish and Aryan are both residents of Dadumajra Colony.

Police officials confirmed the arrests. They noted that the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are verifying the possible involvement of other family members or associates. The murder weapon, the knife used in the stabbing, has not been recovered yet. The search for this crucial evidence continues.

This case highlights the dangers of unresolved personal disputes escalating into violence. The brazen nature of the attack in a public area has shocked local residents. Chandigarh Police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness as they pursue all investigative angles.
