Tragic Stunt Driving Incident Claims Teen's Life in Faridabad

A devastating accident in the Aravalli hills of Faridabad resulted in the death of a 15-year-old boy and left two other youths with critical injuries on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred when a Mahindra Thar vehicle plunged into a nearly 100-foot-deep ravine in the Sirohi village area, according to local police authorities.

Victims Identified as Bihar Residents Living in Ballabgarh

The deceased has been identified as Sohan, a Class 9 student originally from Siwan in Bihar. The two injured individuals are car driver Vikas, aged 20, and Hemant, aged 16, both also hailing from Siwan, Bihar. All three victims' families reside in Balaji Colony within Karnera village in Ballabgarh, as confirmed by news agency PTI reports.

Police investigations revealed that Vikas's family, who lives adjacent to Sohan's residence, had purchased the Mahindra Thar vehicle just one month prior to the tragic incident. On the fateful Tuesday afternoon, Vikas took Sohan and Hemant for a drive in the newly acquired vehicle.

Stunt Driving Turns Fatal Near Deep Ravine

According to police statements, the trio allegedly left the main road and drove approximately one kilometer into the hills on a dirt track. They began performing stunts near the edge of the approximately 100-foot-deep ravine while simultaneously taking photographs and videos of their dangerous activities.

"During their reckless escapade, Vikas accidentally shifted the car into reverse gear instead of forward," police officials explained. "This critical error caused the vehicle to spin completely out of control before plummeting into the deep ravine below."

Rescue Efforts and Hospitalization

Passersby witnessed the horrifying moment when the Thar fell into the gorge and immediately rushed to the accident site. After considerable effort, they managed to extract all three occupants from the ravine and transported them urgently to a nearby hospital.

Medical professionals at the hospital declared Sohan dead upon arrival, while Vikas and Hemant were admitted in critical condition requiring intensive medical care.

Police Investigation and Vehicle Recovery

Following notification of the accident, a police team from Dhauj police station arrived at the scene. Authorities utilized a crane to retrieve the severely damaged Mahindra Thar from the ravine. Police have taken custody of Sohan's body and transferred it to the mortuary for a comprehensive post-mortem examination.

A senior police officer stated, "No First Information Report has been registered at this time, and the matter remains under active investigation by our department." The officer emphasized that authorities are thoroughly examining all circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

The accident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the extreme dangers associated with reckless driving and stunt performances in hazardous terrain.
