TCS Employee in Rape Case Moves Bail Plea Citing Pregnancy

A woman employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), who is a co-accused in a case involving rape, molestation, and hurting religious sentiments, has moved a bail application before an additional sessions court in Nashik. The hearing for her bail plea has been scheduled for May 25. Two other men are also accused in the same case.

Arrest and Judicial Custody

The accused had allegedly evaded arrest initially but was later apprehended by the Nashik city police with assistance from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police. She is currently lodged in judicial custody.

Her counsel, Baba Sayyed, stated, “Since our client is pregnant and remanded in judicial custody, we have moved a bail plea in front of the court. The court has placed the matter for hearing on May 25.”

Other Bail Applications

On Wednesday, the court also took up the bail pleas of five male accused and one woman, who is an AGM (delivery partner). The matter has been posted for orders on May 15. “We are likely to get the decision on May 15,” Sayyed added.

In a related development, the bail application of another accused, who has been booked specifically for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a male colleague, will be heard separately on June 6, the court said.
