According to police reports, the driver and the owner of the SUV noticed smoke emanating from the engine compartment and promptly exited the vehicle. Within moments, the smoke intensified, and the SUV was completely engulfed in flames. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) was alerted immediately, dispatching a fire tender to the location. Firefighters worked swiftly to bring the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported in the aftermath.
A video of the event, which surfaced on Sunday morning, depicts the vehicle fully ablaze on the busy road at night. Thick black smoke billows from the SUV as traffic continues to flow on the opposite side of the carriageway. In the footage, firefighters are seen deploying hoses to extinguish the fire, which was eventually subdued, leaving the vehicle gutted with extensive damage to its engine bay, cabin, and overall structure.

The DFS received an emergency call around 1:10 pm and sent a fire tender, which managed to douse the flames by 1:35 pm. All occupants, including driver Dishad Ahmed, a woman identified as Laxmi, and her two children, were safely evacuated with assistance from beat constables of the Adarsh Nagar police station.
Police personnel cleared the area to prevent any potential hazards and retrieved the occupants' belongings from the vehicle, returning them safely. These back-to-back incidents raise questions about vehicle maintenance and fire safety protocols in densely populated cities like Delhi.
