A tragic incident at a construction site near Trichy Airport has claimed the life of an 18-year-old student who was gaining practical work experience. The young man fell from a significant height while assisting his uncle, leading to fatal injuries.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The fatal accident occurred on Tuesday evening around 6 pm. The victim, identified as S Gowtham from Sembattu, was a diploma student at Mookambikai College. To gain hands-on experience, he was helping his uncle, a welder, at the construction site located near the Trichy Airport.

While carrying out welding work, Gowtham was climbing down the scaffold when he slipped. He plummeted approximately 30 feet to the ground, sustaining critical injuries from the fall.

Emergency Response and Fatal Outcome

Following the fall, Gowtham was immediately rushed to the Trichy General Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts to save him, his injuries proved too severe. The young student succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight, according to reports.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim's father, Subramanian, the Airport police have registered a case. The legal action has been taken under Section 194 (unnatural death) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

Investigation and Aftermath

The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal fall. Authorities conducted a post-mortem examination on the body, after which it was handed over to the grieving family for last rites.
