South Delhi Double Murder: Father and Son Stabbed to Death in Alaknanda
A horrific incident unfolded in south Delhi's Alaknanda area on Friday evening, where a 60-year-old man and his 40-year-old son were brutally stabbed to death, allegedly by one of their neighbours. The attack, which also left a relative injured, has sent shockwaves through the community and prompted a massive police investigation.
Details of the Alaknanda Twin Murders
The tragic event occurred at Tara Apartments in the Alaknanda locality. According to police reports, the victims have been identified as Rakesh Sood and his son Karan, residents of O block who were involved in a property business. The suspect, a resident of F block in the same apartment complex, visited their flat on Friday, leading to a heated argument that quickly escalated into violence.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly attacked the father-son duo with a knife, stabbing them repeatedly. Both men sustained multiple injuries and collapsed just outside their flat. A relative who attempted to intervene was also attacked in the process. Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of blood and chaos.
Police Investigation and Community Shock
Upon discovering the injured, family members and neighbours rushed Rakesh Sood and Karan to a nearby hospital. They were later transferred to Max Hospital for advanced treatment, but unfortunately, both succumbed to their injuries. Police teams were alerted shortly after the incident and arrived at the apartment complex, cordoning off the area and calling in forensic experts to inspect the flat and collect evidence.
An initial examination of the scene indicated a violent and targeted attack. Police suspect that a financial dispute may have been the motive behind the killings. In response, five police teams have been formed and are conducting extensive raids to trace and arrest the absconding suspect. Additionally, CCTV footage from the area is being analysed to gather more clues.
The twin murders have left residents of Tara Apartments in a state of shock and fear. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described the scene: "I was at home and rushed to the spot after hearing some commotion... there was a lot of blood everywhere, and police subsequently arrived." The community is now grappling with the aftermath of this brutal crime, as authorities work tirelessly to bring the perpetrator to justice.
