Rajasthan Police SOG Nabs Wanted Teacher Candidate in Exam Fraud Case
The Special Operations Group of Rajasthan Police made a significant arrest in Jaipur. They captured a wanted candidate accused of a serious examination fraud. This individual allegedly secured selection as a senior teacher by using dummy candidates.
Details of the Accused and the Case
ADG Vishal Bansal of the SOG identified the arrested man as Sampat Lal Mali. He is twenty-eight years old and hails from Ratanpura village in Jalore district. The case revolves around the Senior Teacher Competitive Examination for 2022. This examination was conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission.
Officials provided specific dates for the exams. The General Knowledge and Educational Psychology paper was scheduled for December 24, 2022. The Science subject exam was set for the same day in the afternoon.
The Examination Fraud Unfolds
Police stated that the GK paper faced cancellation on its scheduled date. Authorities detected a paper leak, leading to this decision. The paper was later re-conducted on January 29, 2023.
Investigators revealed a shocking detail. Sampat Lal Mali did not appear for either examination himself. Instead, dummy candidates allegedly took his place for both papers. This fraudulent act enabled him to clear the competitive exam.
Based on the manipulated results, he fraudulently secured selection for the senior teacher post in the Science subject. This selection was entirely illegitimate, according to police officials.
Long Evasion and Eventual Arrest
After the case was registered, the accused went into hiding. He remained absconding for nearly two years, evading law enforcement. An additional district and sessions court in Jaipur issued a permanent arrest warrant against him.
To aid in his capture, the ATS and SOG headquarters announced a reward. They offered five thousand rupees for information leading to his arrest. This incentive ultimately contributed to his apprehension by the SOG team.
Ongoing Investigation and Future Steps
Police confirmed that further investigation is currently underway. The primary focus is to identify the two dummy candidates who appeared for the exams. Authorities are also working to uncover other suspects involved in this elaborate fraud case.
The arrest marks a crucial step in addressing examination malpractices. It highlights the vigilance of Rajasthan Police in tackling such fraudulent activities within competitive recruitment processes.
