Family Dinner Dispute Escalates into Deadly Stabbing in Sitapur Village
A tragic incident unfolded in Sitapur district, where a petty dispute within a joint family turned violent, resulting in the deaths of a husband and wife and leaving another person critically injured. The shocking event occurred late Wednesday in Thakurpurva village, located under the jurisdiction of the Naimisharanya police station.
Violent Altercation During Family Dinner
According to police officials, the violence erupted during a family dinner when a minor altercation escalated dramatically. Additional Superintendent of Police Durgesh Singh provided details, stating that Shyamu, aged 37, allegedly attacked his two brothers with a sharp-edged weapon following the disagreement.
The victims have been identified as Harish, 40, who was Shyamu's elder brother, and Ramu, his younger brother. When Harish's wife, Poonam, intervened in an attempt to stop the attack, she too was stabbed by the accused.
Fatal Consequences and Medical Response
All three victims sustained serious stab injuries in the brutal assault. They were immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre in Naimisharanya for emergency medical treatment.
Tragically, Poonam was declared dead upon arrival at the health center. Her husband Harish succumbed to his injuries during treatment shortly after. The younger brother Ramu remains in critical condition and was referred to the district hospital for more advanced care.
