Shimla Court Remands Murder Accused to Police Custody Until April 16
A local court in Sarkaghat, Himachal Pradesh, has sent Vikas Patiyal, the prime accused in the brutal murder of 19-year-old college student Sia Guleria, to police custody until April 16. The court's decision came on Tuesday, following the shocking incident that occurred in the Gopalpur area of the Sarkaghat sub-division on Monday.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The accused allegedly attacked the victim with a sharp-edged weapon, slitting her throat while she was on her way to college. Both Patiyal and the victim were residents of Nain village, adding a layer of local tragedy to the case. Police officials have confirmed that Patiyal is reportedly a drug addict, which has raised concerns about substance abuse in the community.
