Saudi Arabia Launches Major Hospitality Initiative for Stranded GCC Nationals
In a significant humanitarian response to regional travel disruptions, Saudi Arabia has initiated a large-scale hospitality operation in the holy city of Makkah. Following a direct order from King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Makkah Chamber of Commerce has mobilized to allocate 2,500 fully equipped hotel rooms specifically for citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries who find themselves stranded at airports across the Kingdom.
Royal Directive Ensures Comfort and Support
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques approved the comprehensive hosting plan for all stranded GCC nationals, with explicit instructions to ensure their comfort and well-being until conditions permit their safe return home. The royal directive emphasizes facilitating all necessary procedures to properly host and honor citizens from GCC states, while providing them with full support and traditional Saudi hospitality throughout their stay.
Swift Logistical Response in Makkah
The Makkah Chamber of Commerce responded immediately to implement the required logistical arrangements. Hotels throughout the city have been activated to receive guests, with 2,500 rooms prepared and supported by comprehensive services designed to ensure comfort and proper care for all stranded travelers.
Abdulmohsen Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Hotels and Tourism Committee at the Chamber, confirmed the substantial allocation and explained that this effort reflects the Kingdom's human-centered approach to regional challenges. He emphasized that supporting stranded GCC nationals demonstrates Saudi Arabia's solidarity with neighboring Gulf states, adding that Makkah remains a welcoming home for all who arrive on its sacred land.
Regional Unity and Hospitality During Disruption
This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's strong commitment to regional unity and traditional Arabian hospitality during times of uncertainty and disruption. By ensuring that stranded travelers are accommodated with dignity and comprehensive support, the Kingdom reinforces its role as a stabilizing force in the Gulf region until affected individuals can safely return to their home countries.
The hospitality effort represents more than just temporary accommodation—it symbolizes the deep bonds between GCC nations and Saudi Arabia's proactive approach to addressing regional challenges through practical, compassionate solutions that prioritize human welfare above all other considerations.
