Satna Family Poisoning Tragedy: 6-Year-Old Boy Dies, Three Critical

A heartbreaking incident has unfolded in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district, where a 6-year-old boy lost his life and three members of his family are fighting for survival after allegedly consuming food laced with poison following a domestic dispute. The tragic event occurred late Monday night in Bandha village, under the jurisdiction of the Rampur Baghelan police station.

Details of the Tragic Incident

According to police reports, the family consisted of Kundan Sharma, his wife Jyoti Sharma, and their two young sons. The couple reportedly engaged in a heated argument around 7 PM on Monday evening. Following this domestic quarrel, Jyoti Sharma allegedly mixed a poisonous substance into the food that had been prepared at their home.

The poisoned meal was first served to the children, and later consumed by the couple as well. Within a short period, all four family members began experiencing severe discomfort and collapsed inside their residence.

Youngest Son's Desperate Cry for Help

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the family's 3-year-old son, Abhishek Sharma, managed to exit the house and reach a neighbor's home. The distressed child was crying and informed neighbors that everyone in his household had fallen ill.

Alarmed by the young boy's condition and his urgent plea for help, neighbors immediately rushed to the Sharma residence. There they discovered Kundan Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, and their elder son Akash Sharma (6) lying unconscious on the floor.

Emergency Response and Hospitalization

With assistance from fellow villagers, all four family members were quickly transported to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa for emergency medical treatment. Despite doctors' best efforts, young Akash Sharma was declared dead during treatment.

The condition of Kundan Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, and their younger son Abhishek remains critical, with medical personnel working tirelessly to stabilize their conditions. The hospital has reported that all three survivors are currently battling for their lives in the intensive care unit.

Police Investigation Underway

Local authorities have launched a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to this family tragedy. Preliminary information suggests that the alleged poisoning followed a dispute between the husband and wife, though police have not yet established the specific reason for their argument.

Investigators are examining multiple angles, including the nature of the domestic dispute, the type of poisonous substance used, and the sequence of events that culminated in this devastating outcome. Forensic teams have collected samples from the family's home for analysis.

Recent Similar Tragedy in Madhya Pradesh

This incident follows another heartbreaking family poisoning case in Shahdol district earlier this month. In that separate tragedy, a debt-ridden mobile phone trader allegedly poisoned his wife and teenage daughter before consuming the substance himself.

In the Shahdol case, the teenage daughter later died during treatment, while the wife survived. The man also succumbed to the poisoning, according to police reports. These back-to-back incidents have raised concerns about domestic violence and mental health crises in the region.

Community leaders and local authorities are urging residents to seek help through proper channels during domestic disputes and family conflicts, emphasizing that violence and extreme measures only lead to irreversible tragedies.
