Sarpanch's Son Brutally Murdered in MP Over Parking Dispute; Attackers Filmed Assault

In a horrific and brutal incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, the son of a village sarpanch was hacked to death with a sword and an axe in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district on Sunday morning. The attack, which stemmed from a seemingly minor dispute over parking two-wheelers, turned deadly, with the accused allegedly filming the entire assault on a mobile phone until the victim collapsed. Three other individuals, including the sarpanch himself, were also injured in the violent clash that erupted in the Mayapur police station area.

Victim Identified as Yudhishthir Yadav

The deceased has been identified as Yudhishthir Yadav, the son of Muhasa gram panchayat sarpanch Rajendra Singh Yadav, who is 62 years old. Police authorities confirmed that a video of the assault has surfaced, providing crucial evidence of the gruesome crime. According to the initial police report and statements from the injured sarpanch, Rajendra Singh Yadav, he and his son had gone to Purva Simla village around 8:30 am to hire labourers for work.

Parking Dispute Escalates into Deadly Violence

The tragic sequence of events began when the father and son parked their motorcycle near a house and engaged in conversation with villagers. An argument suddenly broke out, reportedly after Dharmendra Yadav arrived on a tractor and objected to the motorcycle being parked on the road. When Rajendra Singh Yadav and his son protested, Dharmendra allegedly drove the tractor over the bike, causing significant damage. This act of aggression quickly escalated the dispute into a violent confrontation.

Police investigations reveal that Dharmendra then called his family members to the spot. His father, identified as Captain Yadav, arrived armed with a sword and an axe. During the ensuing clash, Yudhishthir Yadav was attacked repeatedly with these weapons, suffering severe and fatal injuries to his chest, stomach, and arms. He collapsed to the ground shortly after the assault began.

Sarpanch and Two Others Injured in Attack

The attackers did not stop there. They also assaulted Rajendra Singh Yadav and two other villagers, Ajay Pal Yadav and Gandharva Yadav, who had attempted to intervene and stop the violence. All three sustained injuries during the attack and were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Yudhishthir Yadav was rushed to the government hospital in Khaniadhana, where doctors, after examining him, declared him dead upon arrival. The other injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment, with their conditions being monitored closely.

Underlying Land Dispute Suspected as Motive

Family members of the victims have pointed to a deeper, underlying tension in the village related to land ownership. They allege that the attack may be linked to a dispute over government land that has been cleared for a proposed electricity powerhouse project in the area. According to the family, the accused were allegedly in possession of a piece of this government land, and they suspect that the parking dispute was merely a pretext for the violent assault, which may have been motivated by broader conflicts over the land issue.

Local authorities are investigating all angles of the case, including the possibility of the land dispute as a contributing factor. The emergence of the video footage is expected to play a pivotal role in the investigation, as it provides a clear record of the events that transpired. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators, and a thorough probe is underway to ensure justice for the victims and their families.
