RPF Personnel Execute Swift Rescue at Ahmedabad's Kalupur Station
In a dramatic incident at Ahmedabad's Kalupur railway station, a 36-year-old man was rescued by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel after he fell and got trapped between a moving train and Platform No. 5. The event occurred around 10:30 PM as the Pune-Duronto train was departing from the station.
Father's Urgent Journey Turns Perilous
The passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed by officials, was in a hurry to board the train to reach Pune. During preliminary questioning, he revealed that his son was undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital in Pune. He stated that this particular train was his best option to arrive in Pune by morning to attend to his critically ill child.
As the train began to move, the man attempted to climb into a general coach after another commuter had already boarded. However, as the train picked up speed, he lost his balance and slipped into the narrow gap between the platform edge and the moving train. CCTV footage from the station captured the terrifying moment of his fall, showing him trapped in the confined space while the train continued forward.

Within seconds of the incident, RPF personnel stationed nearby noticed the fall and sprinted towards the trapped passenger. Constables Puranmal Samota and Chhotulal, who were part of the team deployed on the platform, acted immediately. They pulled the man away from the dangerous gap and brought him to safety, preventing what could have easily been a fatal accident.
Officials confirmed that the rescue was carried out swiftly and efficiently, with no further injuries sustained by the passenger. The timely intervention by the RPF team highlights the critical role of vigilant security personnel in ensuring passenger safety at railway stations.
