Marshal Chadsaniya, the deceased, was a first-year computer engineering student at Noble University. He jumped onto the tracks from the river bridge when a train traveling from Rajkot to Porbandar was passing through the area.

Marshal's father, Kishor Chadsaniya, works as a farmer. The family originally hails from Moti Paneli village in Upleta taluka of Rajkot district.
