Rajkot Burglary: Thieves Loot Rs 1.62 Lakh in Cash and Silver from Salesman's Residence
In a distressing incident in Rajkot, a 37-year-old man has filed a formal complaint with the Pradhyuman Nagar police station after burglars targeted his home in the Railnagar area on February 19. The thieves made off with cash and silver jewellery valued at approximately Rs 1.62 lakh, leaving the victim and his family shaken.
Details of the Burglary and Stolen Items
The complainant, identified as Anil Manani, aged 37 and a resident of Radhika Residency, works as a salesman for GVL Industries Limited. According to police reports, Manani and his family had departed early in the morning to attend a relative's wedding in Ahmedabad, leaving their house unattended. Upon returning to Rajkot alone around 5 PM, Manani discovered the main door lock broken and the inner door forced open, indicating a forced entry.
Upon inspecting the premises, he found that an iron cupboard in a downstairs room had been damaged, though nothing was missing from it. However, the burglars had targeted an upstairs room, where they broke open an iron cupboard and a locker, stealing Rs 25,000 in cash kept there. Additionally, from an adjacent room, another Rs 1.25 lakh in cash was taken. The thieves also absconded with silver jewellery, including a chain weighing about 50 grams and a pair of bangles weighing around 40 grams. The total estimated value of the stolen property amounts to Rs 1.62 lakh.

Local authorities have registered an offence against unknown persons and have launched a thorough investigation into the burglary.
