Rajasthan Police Detain One Suspect in Gujarat for Bikaner Gang-Rape Case

Rajasthan Police made a significant move on Monday by detaining one person in Gujarat. This action connects to the alleged abduction and gang-rape of an 18-year-old girl in Bikaner district. The disturbing incident occurred on January 6 in a moving car.

Accused Being Brought to Bikaner for Questioning

Police are now transporting the detained accused to Bikaner for detailed questioning. Authorities continue their search for a second accused individual. They are also actively looking for the vehicle used in this crime.

The First Information Report (FIR) provides crucial details. Based on a police complaint from the girl's family, it states the crime happened while she was on her way to school.

How the Crime Unfolded

Two accused deceived the girl into entering their car. One of them was known to the victim. They promised to drop her off at school, exploiting her trust.

A senior officer from the Napasar police station in Bikaner explained the situation. "Since one of the youths was an acquaintance, she trusted him," the officer said. This familiarity played a key role in the abduction.

After committing the crime, the men dropped the girl near her house. From there, she managed to reach home safely.

Family Reported the Incident After Five Days

The family, however, waited five days before reporting the matter to police. They finally lodged the complaint on Sunday. This delay prompted the registration of the FIR.

Police initiated an investigation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Charges include kidnapping and gang-rape.

Police Statement and Medical Examination

Bikaner Superintendent of Police Kavendra Sagar addressed the media. "The detained accused will be thoroughly questioned," Sagar stated. "Legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected."

The victim has since undergone a medical examination. This step is part of the standard procedure to gather forensic evidence.

Rajasthan Police emphasize their commitment to solving this case. They urge anyone with information to come forward. The search for the second accused and the vehicle remains a top priority.
