Pune Tragedy: Mother and Two Children Die After Jumping into Well Following Marital Discord
In a heart-wrenching incident that has shocked the Pune district, a woman jumped into a well along with her six-year-old son and four-month-old daughter, leading to the deaths of all three. The tragedy occurred in the Shirur taluka on Sunday afternoon, following a quarrel with her husband, as confirmed by the police on Monday.

The police have identified the deceased as Ahila alias Bhagyashri Jadhav, aged 30, her son Sarthak, and her daughter Gauri, all residents of Pabal village. In response to this devastating event, the Pune rural police arrested her husband, Raju Pandurang Jadhav, 32, on charges of abetment of suicide. An FIR has been filed at the Shikrapur police station, marking a significant step in the ongoing investigation.

Investigations reveal that the Jadhav family originally hails from the Buldhana district and had relocated to Pune in search of employment opportunities. According to Senior Inspector Deepratan Gaikwad, the probe has uncovered that Raju was frequently involved in quarrels with his wife. On the fateful Sunday afternoon, after one such altercation, the woman left her home with her two children, taking her son's bicycle with her. When she did not return, her husband initiated a search.
Around 2:30 PM, the bicycle and footwear were discovered near a well in Pabal, raising immediate concerns. With the assistance of local villagers, the three individuals were retrieved from the well. Unfortunately, they were pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital, confirming the worst fears of the community.
