Tragic Hit-and-Run Claims Woman's Life in Pune's Sangvi Area

A devastating road accident in Pune's Sangvi locality has resulted in the death of a young woman and left her husband injured. The incident occurred on Friday night near Kate Chowk, sending shockwaves through the community.

Details of the Fatal Collision

Police identified the deceased as Narayani Chaudhari, a 34-year-old resident of Kalewadi. Her husband, Ranchhodram Chaudhari, aged 37, survived the crash with minor injuries. The couple was returning home from their stationery store in Pimple Gurav when tragedy struck.

At approximately 8:15 PM, the Chaudharis were traveling on their scooter. As they approached Kate Chowk, a hatchback car slammed into their vehicle from behind. The impact threw both riders onto the road.

The car then ran over Narayani, causing fatal injuries. Ranchhodram sustained bruises on his hands and legs during the collision.

Aftermath and Police Investigation

Ranchhodram immediately rushed his wife to a nearby hospital. Despite receiving medical treatment, Narayani succumbed to her injuries. The grieving husband filed a formal complaint with the Sangvi police on Sunday.

Authorities confirmed that the car driver did not stop after the accident. Police are actively searching for the fleeing motorist. An officer from the Sangvi police station provided these details about the ongoing investigation.
