Pune Restaurant Faces Police Action Over Loud Music Disturbance
Yerawada police took strict action against a restaurant in Kalyaninagar on Saturday. They registered a formal case against the establishment's owner and manager. The charges include disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant and causing a public nuisance.
Late-Night Music Sparks Complaints
The incident traces back to the early hours of January 7. Around 12:30 AM, the restaurant was playing loud music. This noise disturbed the peace and tranquillity of the residential area. Many local residents felt compelled to complain to the police about the disturbance.
Senior Inspector Anjum Bagwan of Yerawada police confirmed the details. He stated that the loud music was clearly audible and causing a problem. In response to the complaints, a police patrolling team immediately visited the restaurant location.
Police Intervention and Seizure
Upon arrival, the patrolling team confirmed the noise violation. They heard the loud music emanating from the restaurant. Inside, approximately sixteen customers were present, enjoying food and beverages. The police team did not delay their response.
They proceeded to seize the sound system and speakers responsible for the noise. This action aimed to stop the immediate disturbance. The team also documented the entire episode by filming the scene at the restaurant.
Notice Served and Subsequent FIR
Following the seizure, the police served an official notice to the restaurant owner and manager on January 7. This notice directed them to comply with noise regulations. However, the restaurant management failed to adhere to this order.
Their non-compliance led to further legal steps. On Saturday, the Yerawada police formally registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the duo. The case underscores the authorities' commitment to maintaining public order.
Senior Inspector Bagwan emphasized the sequence of events. The police acted on resident complaints, verified the nuisance, and took progressive enforcement action. The registration of the FIR marks a significant escalation in holding the establishment accountable for disrupting community peace.
