Prayagraj Police Apprehend Suspect in Alleged Assault of Class XI Student
In a significant development, the Prayagraj police have successfully apprehended one of the individuals allegedly involved in the assault of a Class XI student. The incident occurred near the UPTRON crossing, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Shivkuti police station, on April 9.
Details of the Assault Incident
According to the official complaint submitted by the student's father to the police, the miscreants, who were known to the victim, severely thrashed the young student. The father's complaint highlighted the gravity of the situation, alleging that his son was subjected to a brutal beating by these individuals.
The student himself provided a detailed account to the authorities, asserting that three alumni from his school had called him to the crossing three days prior to the incident. Upon meeting, they allegedly assaulted him, leaving him injured before fleeing the scene near the Govindpur crossing.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Following the incident, the student promptly informed his father, who then took immediate action by lodging a First Information Report (FIR) with the Shivkuti police station. The police launched a swift investigation into the matter, leading to the arrest of one of the accused individuals.
During police interrogation, the arrested suspect confessed to his involvement in the assault. He stated that he, along with his friends, intended to teach the student a lesson. The motive behind the attack, as per the suspect's confession, was the student's alleged habit of passing lewd remarks about the suspect's girlfriend.
The police have taken the accused into custody and are continuing their investigation to identify and apprehend the other individuals involved in this case. Authorities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness to ensure justice is served and to prevent such incidents in the future.
