A fire broke out on Thursday at the Magh Mela campus in Prayagraj, gutting five empty tents located near the parade area in sector 3. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, which caused significant damage to the temporary structures.

Upon receiving the alert, a team from the fire department rushed to the spot equipped with three fire extinguishers. They managed to control the blaze within 30 minutes, preventing it from spreading further and causing more extensive damage. Official Statement and Suspected Cause
CFO (Magh Mela) Animesh Singh confirmed to TOI that the fire originated in an empty tent and subsequently spread to four nearby tents. He stated that all the affected tents belonged to the kisan union. Police officials are investigating the incident and suspect that someone might have prepared food in one of the empty tents and left without properly dousing the flames, leading to the fire.
