Pratapgarh police made a significant breakthrough on Sunday by busting an inter-district gang of burglars. Officers arrested three key members of the criminal network in a targeted operation.
Arrests Made in Aspur Devsara
Police took Surjeet Verma, aged 28, Rajesh Gupta, 24, and Uma Shankar Verma, 22, into custody. All three men hail from the Aspur Devsara area. Their capture marks a crucial step in dismantling the organized burglary ring.
Recovery of Stolen Property
Following the arrests, authorities conducted searches and recovered a substantial cache of stolen items. The seized property includes:
- 3 computer CPUs
- 3 computer mice
- 4 cables
- 3 adaptors
- 1 stitching machine
- 1 lab practical box
- 4 boards
- 4 desktop LCD monitors
Police confirmed these items came from the possession of the arrested individuals.
Connection to School Theft
Investigators linked the gang to a specific criminal incident. The miscreants executed a theft at the Government Higher Secondary School in Dhaurhara earlier this year.
This burglary occurred on January 8 within the jurisdiction of the Aspur Devsara police station. The stolen school property matches items recovered during the police operation.
Legal Action and Investigation
After the school theft, authorities registered a First Information Report under specific legal sections. The FIR cites Section 331(4) and Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police formed a dedicated team to investigate the case thoroughly. Their sustained efforts led to Sunday's successful arrests and property recovery.
The operation demonstrates effective police work against inter-district criminal networks. Pratapgarh police continue their investigation to identify any additional gang members or connected crimes.
