Bengaluru Police Conducts Search Operation at Activist's Mysuru Residence

A team from the Bengaluru City police executed a search operation on Friday at the residence-cum-office of activist Snehamayi Krishna, located in Gundurao Nagar, Mysuru. The operation was led by CCB inspector Umesh Kumar SN, who is the investigation officer in a case registered against Krishna in Bengaluru.

Details of the Police Search

The search lasted nearly 50 minutes and involved a 10-member team. This included two women head constables and two witnesses, ensuring transparency throughout the process. The entire operation was meticulously videographed to document all procedures.

Krishna's wife, GN Vinoda, who was present during the search, confirmed to reporters that CCB officials arrived with a valid search warrant. She stated that the police conducted their search at their single-floor home and seized several items, including documents, a pen drive, and a hard disk.

Background of the Case and Activist's Response

Snehamayi Krishna is the petitioner in the high-profile MUDA site-sharing scam, where he has accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members, including his wife, of misuse of public office and corruption. The case has garnered significant attention due to its political implications.

Vinoda also mentioned that Krishna was arrested when he went to Bengaluru to attend a related case hearing. Despite this, she expressed defiance, asserting that they are "not afraid of all this" and will continue their fight against injustice.

Recent Developments and Additional Searches

In a recent development, a special court accepted the ‘B' report filed by the Lokayukta police in the MUDA scam case, adding another layer to the ongoing investigation.

Following the initial search at Krishna's home, the police team proceeded to conduct an additional search at Vinoda's mother's single-floor house in Bandipalya, near Gundurao Nagar. This secondary search lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Jurisdictional Aspects of the Operation

Notably, the jurisdictional Mysuru district police were not involved in this operation, highlighting that it was conducted solely by the Bengaluru City police team under the CCB's direction.

The search operation underscores the intensifying scrutiny in the MUDA scam case, with authorities taking proactive steps to gather evidence. As the investigation progresses, it remains a focal point in discussions about corruption and accountability in public office.
