Muzaffarnagar Police Confiscate Gangster's Assets Worth Rs 15.5 Crore
Police in Muzaffarnagar took decisive action on Saturday. They attached properties valued at approximately Rs 15.5 crore. These assets belong to a notorious gangster and his two sons. The authorities acted under the Gangster Act.
Public Announcement with Drums in Village
The Ratanpuri police executed the attachment order. They used Section 14(1) of the Gangster Act for this operation. Officers made a public announcement in the village. They beat drums to inform local residents about the seizure.
District Magistrate Umesh Mishra issued the formal order three days earlier. He acted on a detailed proposal submitted by the police force. The accused individuals are Zahid Ahmed and his sons, Khalid and Amir.
Seized Properties Include Agricultural Land and Vehicles
The confiscated assets comprise several valuable items. Police seized around 35 bighas of agricultural land. This land is located in Husainabad, Dhanwara, and Riyawali villages. Authorities also took a pickup truck and two motorcycles.
Investigators stated these properties were accumulated through organized criminal activities. The gangster and his sons used illegal proceeds to amass this wealth.
Multiple Criminal Cases Pending Against the Trio
SP (Rural) Aditya Bansal provided details about the accused. He confirmed multiple criminal cases are registered against all three individuals. These cases span various police stations across Muzaffarnagar district.
Zahid Ahmed faces at least five separate cases. His son Khalid is named in nine cases, including one under the Gangster Act. The pending charges include serious offences like murder, attempt to murder, and cow slaughter.
Thorough Investigation Preceded Property Attachment
Police conducted an extensive investigation before taking action. They compiled a comprehensive report for the district administration. Based on this report, District Magistrate Mishra ordered the property attachment.
SP Bansal emphasized this action sends a strong message. He stated police will continue similar operations against criminals who accumulate wealth through illegal means. The Gangster Act provides authorities with powerful tools to dismantle criminal enterprises.
