Patna woman killed by husband's friends over money dispute

A young woman was brutally killed in Patna, with police alleging the prime suspects are her husband's friends. The tragic incident, stemming from a financial disagreement, has sent shockwaves through the Rajiv Nagar locality.

Details of the Patna Tragedy

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Priyanka Kumari, who originally hailed from Samastipur. She had been residing in Patna for the past seven years with her husband, Meghnath Sah, and their seven-year-old son. The family lived in a rented home on Road No. 25-D in the Rajiv Nagar area.

The fatal altercation occurred late on Monday night. According to the police, the roots of the violence lay in a monetary dispute between Sah and two of his friends, Prakash (also known as JP) and Lalu (alias Mukhiya). The disagreement had escalated into a physical brawl about two days prior to the murder.

The Fatal Confrontation

Sonu Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Rajiv Nagar police station, provided a detailed account. "Following the initial brawl, the two accused went to Sah's rented accommodation. Sah was not present at home at that time," the SHO stated.

A heated argument ensued between the two men and Priyanka Kumari. The situation turned violent when the duo allegedly pushed her. "She was hit on the head and fell on the ground," Officer Kumar explained. The couple's young son witnessed the horrifying event and later told the police that two men came on a bike and pushed his mother.

Aftermath and Police Action

When Meghnath Sah returned home, he discovered his wife lying on the floor, bleeding profusely from her head. In a desperate attempt to save her, he first rushed her to a nearby private hospital and then to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS). Tragically, doctors at IGIMS declared her brought dead.

The matter was formally reported to the police on Tuesday. Authorities have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation. No arrests have been made so far, but the probe is actively underway to apprehend the accused friends, Prakash and Lalu.

This incident highlights the grim consequences of disputes turning violent, leaving a young child motherless and a family shattered. The Patna police are under pressure to deliver swift justice in this heartbreaking case.
