A tragic fire incident in rural Patna has left a family devastated after two young children lost their lives in a horrific blaze on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in Danara village under the Bhagwanganj police station area of Masaurhi, where a straw hut was completely engulfed by flames.

The victims have been identified as Priyanshu Kumar (6) and his sister Mansi Kumari (2), children of local farmer Vikas Kumar. According to preliminary police reports, the children were playing inside the hut located near a barn when the fire broke out.
Police suspect that a short circuit in the electrical wiring sparked the initial flames, which then spread rapidly through the straw structure. The intensity of the fire trapped both children inside before anyone could reach them.

Vikas Kumar, who was working in the fields at the time, noticed the flames and rushed home in a desperate attempt to save his children. Despite his efforts and those of fellow villagers who tried to douse the fire, the blaze proved too intense to control.

Bhagwanganj police in-charge Sujit Kumar confirmed that the initial investigation points toward an electrical short circuit as the likely cause. "The bodies were recovered and sent to PMCH for post-mortem examination. We have registered a case and further investigation is currently underway," stated Kumar.

Alleged Dispute Over Donations Turns Deadly
According to the victim's mother, Geeta Devi, the tragedy followed a dispute earlier in the day. A scrap dealer who was collecting donations for Saraswati Puja immersion ceremonies had demanded ₹1,000 from Golu Kumar.
Golu reportedly offered ₹101 instead, explaining that recent family expenses had left him with limited funds. This response allegedly triggered an argument that escalated into physical violence.
Mother's Account of the Tragic Events
Geeta Devi has made serious allegations about the sequence of events leading to her son's death. She claims that the scrap dealer and several others first assaulted her, then chased Golu into a nearby hut where he attempted to hide.
"They followed him into the hut and killed him," Geeta Devi stated in her account to authorities. Local residents who witnessed the commotion immediately informed the police, who arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
