A private car was completely engulfed in flames near the J P Gangapath roundabout under the jurisdiction of the Digha police station area in Patna on Friday. This alarming incident marks the second such occurrence in the city within a short span, following a similar car fire on Nehru Path just a day earlier, on Thursday.
Swift Response Prevents Injuries Amidst Traffic Chaos
According to eyewitness accounts, the terrifying sequence began when thick smoke started billowing from the front section of the moving vehicle. Within moments, the entire car body was consumed by fierce flames, creating a hazardous situation on the busy Marine Drive route. The sudden blaze triggered significant traffic congestion as motorists slowed down to navigate the scene.
Assistant Fire Officer Ajit Kumar provided crucial details about the emergency response. "We immediately dispatched both large and small fire tenders to the location," Kumar stated. "Our teams worked efficiently and managed to bring the fire under complete control within approximately 25 minutes. Fortunately, no individuals sustained any injuries during this operation."
Occupants Escape Safely Before Inferno Spreads
SHO Brajesh Chauhan of the Gandhi Maidan Traffic Police Station revealed important information about the car's occupants. "There were two persons inside the vehicle at the time, including Rambabu Prasad, who serves as the AGM of the Bata Factory," Chauhan confirmed. "Both individuals demonstrated remarkable presence of mind by exiting the car promptly before the fire could spread further. The vehicle was traveling from Marine Drive toward Mithapur when the incident occurred."
Following the successful firefighting operation, the severely damaged car was towed away from the site to restore normal traffic flow. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the precise technical or mechanical cause behind the sudden ignition.
