Noida Police Cracks Down on Organized Motorcycle Theft Operation
In a significant breakthrough, the Noida police have successfully dismantled a sophisticated motorcycle theft ring operating in the region. Three key members of the organized criminal gang were apprehended during a late-night operation, leading to the recovery of multiple stolen motorcycles along with dismantled bike parts and specialized tools used in their illicit activities.
Modus Operandi of the Theft Gang
According to Additional DCP Shavya Goyal, the accused individuals were part of a well-organized criminal network that employed systematic methods to carry out their thefts. The gang would conduct detailed reconnaissance missions during nighttime hours, specifically targeting parking areas near corporate offices and educational institutions. This strategic approach allowed them to identify vulnerable vehicles with minimal risk of detection.
The criminals utilized master keys to bypass security measures and steal motorcycles efficiently. To further evade law enforcement, they would alter chassis numbers on the stolen vehicles, making identification and recovery more challenging for authorities and victims alike.
Recovery of Stolen Property and Evidence
Police investigators recovered five motorcycles of various makes during the operation, including popular models such as Hero Splendor and Honda Dream Neo. These vehicles had been reported stolen from multiple police station jurisdictions across both Noida and Delhi. Notably, one Hero Splendor motorcycle had been stolen just four days earlier from a resident of Greater Noida West, demonstrating the gang's recent and active criminal operations.
In addition to complete motorcycles, authorities seized numerous dismantled bike components including engines, chassis frames, alloy wheels, and fuel tanks. The recovery also included critical evidence of the gang's methodology: two master keys, a hammer, and a screwdriver specifically used to break locks and tamper with engine and chassis identification numbers.
Storage and Disposal Methods
The DCP revealed that the gang employed clever concealment techniques to hide their stolen property. Some motorcycles were strategically hidden in dense bushes along the Yamuna floodplain, while others were systematically dismantled and sold as spare parts through underground networks. This dual approach to disposal allowed the criminals to maximize profits while minimizing the risk of being caught with identifiable stolen property.
Arrest Details and Criminal Backgrounds
The arrests occurred around 1 AM on Wednesday when Sector 126 police officers conducted routine checks on Pusta Road near Sai Temple. The three apprehended individuals have been identified as Jitendra alias Jeetu (34), Shalu (31), and Firoz Khan (28).
Police records indicate that Jitendra is a habitual offender with an extensive criminal history. He has more than twenty criminal cases registered against him under various sections related to theft, the Arms Act, the NDPS Act, and cheating charges across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The other two accused also have multiple theft cases registered against them, suggesting a pattern of organized criminal behavior among the group members.
All three accused were presented before the court on Wednesday following their arrest, marking a significant step in the legal proceedings against this organized theft operation.
