Noida Murder: Man on Bail for 2024 Killing Shot and Stabbed in Front of Wife
In a shocking incident in Greater Noida, a 30-year-old man, who was out on bail while facing trial for a 2024 murder case, was brutally attacked and killed in front of his wife. The horrific event unfolded on Tuesday in Luksar village under the Ecotech-I area, where four men dragged the victim through the streets, stabbed him, and shot him multiple times.
Victim Was Main Accused in Previous Murder Case
The victim, identified as Nitin Nagar, was the primary accused in the murder of another villager named Vinay, who was shot dead on August 17, 2024. According to police officers, Nagar had been granted bail in August last year, and his case was currently pending before a local court. His wife, Shweta, filed a complaint stating that Nagar was scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Tuesday morning.
Attack Unfolds in Broad Daylight
Around 10 a.m., Nagar stepped out of his house to visit a friend in a nearby lane. As he was returning home and approaching the main road, three men allegedly emerged from another lane, armed with pistols and a knife. They first opened fire and then stabbed Nagar with knives, as detailed in the complaint.
CCTV footage accessed by the police shows several men dragging Nagar to the ground and shooting him multiple times. The footage also captures a woman stepping out of a house moments later, while one of the assailants is seen pointing a gun at the victim. Police reports indicate that one attacker fired at Nagar from close range, but Nagar managed to dodge the first shot and began running towards his house. However, he was shot at by another assailant during his escape attempt.
Gruesome Details of the Killing
As Nagar tried to flee, his foot slipped into an open drain near his house, causing him to fall. He attempted to get up, but two of the attackers caught up with him and knocked him down again. Police stated that one of the accused reloaded his pistol and fired four more rounds. A third attacker then reached the spot and repeatedly stabbed Nitin in the neck and other parts of his body. The entire violent sequence unfolded within minutes.
In her complaint, Shweta said she rushed out of the house upon hearing the gunshots, but one of the accused allegedly pointed a pistol at her, forcing her to retreat. After the attackers fled, family members and locals rushed Nagar to Kailash Hospital, where he died during treatment.
Family Alleges Gang War Involvement
The family claimed that gang members of a local muscleman, Rajesh Ramola, were behind the killing. They identified the accused as Nitin alias Kalla, Vishal, Jitendra, and Sachin. A cousin of the deceased stated, "This is basically a gang war, carried out on the orders of Ramola." He alleged that Nagar had faced repeated threats and extortion attempts after he began doing well financially.
"They were jealous. He was young, successful, and refused to pay. These are the same people who attacked him," the cousin added. Nagar operated an RO water plant and an e-rickshaw agency, which contributed to his financial success.
History of Threats and Previous Incidents
Eyewitness Ramchandran claimed that Ramola had tried to kill Nagar several times before. "We complained, but nothing happened. Even today, he was standing on the street shouting that Nagar should not be spared," he alleged. The family also alleged that Nitin's tempos were set on fire six months ago and that his father, Vinay, had died under suspicious circumstances recently, with marks found on his neck. "There was no investigation in that case either," the cousin said.
Police Response and Investigation
Based on Shweta's written complaint, the police have registered a murder case. Additional DCP Sudhir Kumar confirmed that two accused have been taken into custody for questioning, and multiple teams have been formed to trace and arrest the remaining suspects. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full details of this gang-related violence.
