Noida Contract Feud Escalates into Double Murder and Multiple Arrests
A prolonged and bitter two-year feud between neighboring families in Greater Noida, stemming from a contract dispute that neither party ultimately secured, has culminated in two brutal murders and the arrest of five individuals. The Noida Police have taken decisive action following the latest incident, apprehending suspects involved in a revenge killing that has shocked the local community.
Details of the Arrests and the Fatal Attack
On Wednesday, authorities arrested five men for their alleged involvement in the stabbing and shooting of Nitin Nagar, a 30-year-old resident of Luksar village in the Ecotech-I area of Greater Noida. The arrests include Rajesh Ramola, aged 52 from Ghanghola village in Kasna, and another individual named Nitin, aged 29 from Luksar village. Earlier, three additional accused—Sachin, Vipin, and Jitendra—were also taken into custody. Another suspect, Monu, was arrested on Tuesday night after a gunfight related to the case.
Nitin Nagar, the victim in this recent attack, was himself the main accused in the murder of Vinay, the brother of the arrested Nitin, back in 2024. Nagar had been granted bail in August of last year and was scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Tuesday morning. Tragically, as he stepped out of his house to visit a friend, three men surrounded him, opened fire, and then proceeded to stab him multiple times. Family members and locals rushed Nagar to Kailash Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Root Cause: A Dispute Over a Contract
Police investigations reveal that the feud originated from a dispute over a contract to supply electricity to roadside stalls at night. According to a senior officer, "Nagar murdered Vinay to establish his supremacy. But ultimately, neither party got the contract," highlighting the futility of the violence. The conflict escalated when Nitin, the brother of the murdered Vinay, allegedly began plotting Nagar's murder after the latter was released on bail.
Police Investigation and Charges
Following Nagar's murder, his family members identified the accused as aides of Nitin and Rajesh. In response, the police formed a specialized team to track down the perpetrators. Monu was apprehended on Tuesday based on a tip-off that he was hiding in Puari. Subsequently, Rajesh and Nitin were nabbed from Gharbara Pusta on Wednesday by the Ecotech-1 police. The accused now face serious charges under sections 103(2) for murder, 109 for attempt to murder, 191(3) for rioting, and 61(2) for criminal conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
This case underscores the dangerous consequences of unresolved local disputes and the critical role of law enforcement in maintaining order. The Noida Police continue to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure justice is served and prevent further violence in the community.
