The accident occurred late on Wednesday evening. It happened near the Do Khamba stretch of the National Highway bypass. The time was around 6:45 PM.

Sonu Jat, a resident of Guna, was driving the car. He was traveling with his family from Guna towards Magarda village. The family intended to celebrate Makar Sankranti together.

According to preliminary police information, two nilgai suddenly ran onto the road. The animals appeared as the car approached the spot. One of the nilgai jumped directly onto the moving vehicle.

The four-year-old girl, identified as Tanya, was sitting on her mother's lap in the front seat. The nilgai's legs struck Tanya's head during the collision. The impact proved so severe that the child died on the spot.
