The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has joined the investigation after gelatine sticks were found along Prime Minister Narendra Modi's convoy route in Bengaluru. The discovery was made during a security sweep ahead of the PM's visit to the city on Tuesday.

The gelatine sticks, commonly used in construction and mining, were found near the route that the Prime Minister's convoy was scheduled to take. Security personnel immediately cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough search. No explosives or detonators were found, but the material raised concerns due to its potential misuse.
Prime Minister's Visit
Prime Minister Modi was in Bengaluru to participate in the 45th anniversary celebrations of The Art of Living Foundation and the 70th birthday of its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The event was held at the Art of Living International Center on the outskirts of the city. The PM addressed a large gathering and lauded the foundation's work in promoting wellness and harmony.
Investigation Underway
Local police initially registered a case, and the NIA has now stepped in to probe the matter. The agency is examining whether the gelatine sticks were placed intentionally to disrupt the PM's visit or if it was a case of negligence. Forensic teams have collected samples for analysis.
Security has been heightened in and around Bengaluru following the incident. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning residents in the vicinity. No arrests have been made so far.
The incident has sparked political reactions, with opposition parties demanding a thorough investigation. The state government has assured full cooperation with the NIA and pledged to ensure the safety of all dignitaries.
