NIA Arrests 7th Accused in Red Fort Blast Case

In a significant development in the Delhi Red Fort bomb blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a seventh arrest. The individual, identified as Soyab, a resident of Dhauj in Faridabad, Haryana, was taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly providing shelter and support to the primary terrorist.

The Arrest and the Allegations

The federal anti-terror agency confirmed that Soyab is the seventh person to be arrested in connection with this high-profile investigation. According to the NIA, their probe has revealed that the accused played a crucial role in the lead-up to the tragic event.

Investigations indicate that Soyab allegedly harboured terrorist Umar Un Nabi immediately before the bomb blast. Beyond just offering shelter, the agency asserts that he provided essential logistical support to the terrorist, facilitating the planning and execution of the attack.

Recalling the Tragic Event

The incident that triggered this extensive investigation occurred on 10th November outside the historic Red Fort in the national capital. A car bombing rocked the area, resulting in a devastating loss of life and injuries.

The blast killed several persons and injured many others, sending shockwaves through the city and the country. The choice of location, a symbol of national pride and heritage, added a grave dimension to the terror act.

The Ongoing Investigation

This arrest marks a continued effort by the NIA to unravel the entire network behind the bombing. Prior to Soyab's arrest, the agency had already apprehended six other key aides linked to the car bomber, Umar.

The NIA's persistent investigation suggests a concerted effort to identify and prosecute everyone involved in supporting the terror operation, from the principal executor to those providing logistical and shelter-based assistance.
