Navi Mumbai Security Guard Fatally Attacked with Marble Tile After Midnight Confrontation
In a shocking incident in Navi Mumbai, a 56-year-old security guard lost his life after being brutally attacked with a marble tile during the early hours of April 12. The violent altercation occurred at Janata market in sector 23, Turbhe, following a verbal spat that escalated dramatically around 3 am.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to PSI Sagar Avhad of the APMC police, the victim has been identified as Radhe Kishan, who was performing his duties as a security guard at the market. The accused, Siddharth Mhaske, was spotted loitering in the marble lane of the market during odd hours, which prompted Kishan to question his presence in the locality.
The confrontation quickly turned violent when Mhaske, instead of providing a reasonable explanation, picked up a marble tile from near a store and struck Kishan on the head with significant force. The attack caused severe injuries, and Mhaske fled the scene immediately, leaving the guard lying in a pool of blood.
Swift Police Response and Arrest
A worker from a nearby engineering unit, identified as Vikas Shukla, witnessed the entire incident and promptly informed the APMC police station. Police teams on night patrolling duty reached the spot swiftly and rushed the injured guard to NMMC hospital in Vashi. Tragically, Radhe Kishan was declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The APMC police launched an immediate manhunt for the accused, which led to his arrest within just five hours of the incident. Siddharth Mhaske was apprehended from his residence in the Indira Nagar slum pocket located in the Turbhe MIDC area.
Legal Proceedings and Aftermath
Following his arrest, Mhaske has been remanded to magistrate custody and is currently lodged at Taloja jail as the investigation continues. The swift police action in this case highlights the effectiveness of night patrolling and community cooperation in addressing violent crimes.
