In a shocking incident, the Namakkal district police have arrested a man on charges of sexually abusing his two-year-old daughter. The arrest was made on Monday following a complaint filed by the child's mother, who discovered the abuse upon returning home from work.

Details of the Incident

The alleged abuse occurred on Sunday night while the man's wife was away at her workplace. Upon her return on Monday morning, the woman noticed injuries on her daughter's private parts and face. She immediately conducted inquiries, which revealed that her husband was responsible for the sexual abuse.

Based on the woman's complaint, the Kumarapalayam all-women police station launched an investigation. They registered a case against the man under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a stringent law designed to safeguard minors from sexual offenses.

Medical Treatment for the Child

The two-year-old victim was provided with first aid at a hospital in Erode to address her injuries. Subsequently, she was transferred to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.
