Nagpur Teenager Murders Friend in Public Over Liquor Bill Dispute

In a shocking incident that unfolded late Thursday night, a 17-year-old youth stabbed his 28-year-old friend to death in a public area near the Ajni police station on Besa-Manewada road in Nagpur. The violent altercation erupted during a religious feast gathering, turning a social occasion into a scene of tragedy.

Argument Over ₹1,100 Liquor Expense Turns Fatal

The victim, identified as Yogesh Kakade, a resident of Shri Krishna Nagar with a known criminal background, was engaged in a phone conversation when the accused teenager arrived at the location on a motorcycle. What began as a heated verbal exchange quickly escalated into a deadly confrontation. The core of the dispute centered around ₹1,100 that Yogesh had reportedly spent on liquor for the gathering.

The minor accused, who also has a prior case of bike theft registered against him, was operating under the mistaken belief that someone else had sponsored the liquor feast, not Yogesh. This misunderstanding fueled the argument, leading to a tense verbal duel between the two individuals who were once friends but had turned into foes.

Brutal Stabbing in Full Public View

In a sudden fit of uncontrollable rage, the teenage assailant pulled out a sharp knife that he had concealed in his waistband. Without hesitation, he proceeded to stab Yogesh multiple times in critical areas including the waist, chest, and neck. The attack was carried out with such ferocity and precision that it clearly indicated an intention to kill.

Panicked bystanders who witnessed the brutal assault immediately rushed the grievously injured victim to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention. Despite their efforts and the prompt response, doctors at the medical facility examined Yogesh and declared him brought dead upon arrival.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Based on a formal complaint filed by Suraj Tripathi (28), a resident of Radhanand Nagar in Besa, Hudkeshwar, the Ajni police station authorities have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to murder charges. The investigating officer has taken cognisance of the matter and launched a comprehensive search operation that led to the apprehension of the juvenile accused.

Since the case involves a minor in conflict with the law, it will proceed under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. Law enforcement officials are currently examining available CCTV footage from the vicinity and collecting detailed witness statements to meticulously reconstruct the exact sequence of events that led to this tragic outcome.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising serious questions about juvenile delinquency, conflict resolution among youth, and public safety during social gatherings. Police authorities have assured thorough investigation and appropriate legal action in this distressing case of fatal violence among acquaintances.
