Nagpur Police Crack Three Major Burglary Cases, Detain Four Juveniles

In a significant breakthrough, the Nagpur city police crime branch has successfully cracked three house breaking cases, detained four juveniles in conflict with law, and recovered stolen valuables worth approximately Rs2 lakh. The operation marks a crucial victory for law enforcement in tackling property crimes in the region.

Breakthrough Following Burglary at Vinoba Bhave Nagar

The investigation gained momentum after a burglary was reported at Vinoba Bhave Nagar, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Pardi police station. Police inquiries uncovered that the minors involved were staying in hotels located on the city's outskirts. Their modus operandi involved stealing motorcycles and then targeting houses that were locked and appeared unoccupied.

Details of the Initial Crime

Complainant Ramdas Hari Gadpayle, aged 65, was away in Rambagh to attend a funeral when thieves struck his residence. The incident occurred between 8 PM on February 17 and 5 PM on February 18. The perpetrators broke the main door lock of the house and made off with a substantial haul, including gold and silver ornaments, multiple mobile phones, and Rs20,000 in cash. The total value of the stolen items was estimated to be around Rs61,700.

Intensified Efforts Lead to Detentions and Recoveries

Through intensified patrolling and parallel investigative probes, the police managed to detain the four minors. Subsequent searches yielded significant recoveries, which included:

  • Gold valuables of considerable worth
  • Six silver foot bands
  • Three smartphones
  • A stolen two-wheeler

These items were crucial in linking the juveniles to the crimes.

Connection to Additional Cases and Criminal Histories

The detained juveniles were connected to two more house breaking cases that had been registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station and Buttibori Police Station in Nagpur Rural on February 17. The investigation, led by senior inspector Vinayak Golhe under the supervision of additional commissioner of police Vasant Pardeshi, deputy commissioner of police Rahul Maknikar, and assistant commissioner of police Abhijit Patil, revealed alarming details about the minors' backgrounds.

Two of the four minors had prior criminal records, and one juvenile had committed a burglary within just one hour of being released by the crime branch in a previous instance. This highlights the challenges faced by authorities in dealing with repeat offenders among juveniles.

Arrest of Bullion Traders and Ongoing Investigation

In a further development, the police also arrested bullion traders who were acting as receivers for purchasing the stolen valuables. This action underscores the efforts to dismantle the entire chain involved in such crimes. The juveniles and all recovered items have been formally handed over to the Pardi police station for further legal proceedings.

The investigation is currently underway to trace more accused individuals who may be involved in these or related criminal activities. Authorities are committed to ensuring that all perpetrators are brought to justice and that stolen property is returned to its rightful owners.
